Why we care

The field is
bottlenecked.

When an AI incident happens, the story that gets traction determines public belief, public response and legislation. The AI safety field lacks a group of committed, skillful people that can 1) report on AI incidents quickly and precisely, and 2) produce engaging, digestible content that helps the public understand or engage with AI risk more broadly.

You have qualities that we are looking for. The kinds of candidates we’re excited to see apply have any of the following:

  • Strong charisma
  • Speed!
  • Great communicator of technical ideas
  • Comfort on camera
  • Performing passion
  • Writing passion
  • Video editing passion
  • Creative passion
  • Artistic passion

“I think communications to the public about AI safety is probably the most neglected and important area of work for mitigating risks from AI at the moment. Getting more talent into communications is a top priority and I’m excited about DISPATCH.”
